I'm not as familiar with the roasters in Lombardia, but I'm sure you can easily find something. The odd thing is that Italy being the size of Arizona, even Illy is considered a local roaster. There's not too much of a major loyalty to the roots where your coffee comes from -- rather un-campanilismo. And while nearby Milan freakishly underachieves at espresso (a little like the way New York does here), Como proportionately has a number of decent coffee bars for its size. I count 8 cafés with 2 chicchi ratings from the 2008 Gambero Rosso in Como alone. Como is quite nice. I’m not as familiar with the roasters in Lombardia, but I’m sure you can easily find something.
