Michael Bauer: Between Meals : Coffee talk in reviews
Posted by TheShot on 07 Aug 2007 | Tagged as: Quality Issues, Restaurant Coffee
It’s not just us — other Bay Area restaurant connoisseurs have noted the horrendous state of restaurant coffee. Today the SF Chronicle‘s food editor, Michael Bauer, wrote in his blog about readers who suggested he could do more to play up the coffee quality in his restaurant reviews: Michael Bauer: Between Meals : Coffee talk in reviews.
Mr. Bauer goes on to cite his review of Bar Bambino from this past Sunday (which you can compare with our own).

We have similar problems in Scotland. The quality of espresso is horrendously variable, especially in hotels.
The worst offence, I reckon, is to let someone who does not know what they are doing in charge of a good machine. You know it can make a great coffee but it ends up producing something insipid.
Just found your blog, looks great, by the way.
